Ozone in chronic foot ulcers (Part Two)

Case 2. A 72-year-old woman had a chronic ulcer on the medial aspect of the left malleolus 12 months prior to our treatment. As a result of poor outcomes from conventional treatment, the patient was discouraged and did not cooperate with wound changes. After 22 sessions of AHT, the lesion healed.

Case 3. An 82-year-old man suffered from an ulcer for 9 months and was scheduled for an autologous skin graft to repair the ulcer. The plastic surgeon initially proposed AHT to see the possibility of final wound cleaning before surgery. After 13 AHT sessions, the lesion completely healed without the need for surgery.

Case 4. A 75-year-old woman with depression and a sedentary lifestyle. The patient had venous stasis ulcers on her left leg. Her surgeon provided local treatment and curettage. However, the clinical picture worsened with an increase in the size of the ulcers and pain. After three months, under pressure from relatives, she sought alternative therapy. AHT was started, and after only 10 sessions, the ulcers completely healed, and the pain was alleviated.

Case 5. A 70-year-old carpenter, with type-2 diabetes taking 35 IU of insulin a day, had a small but very painful chronic ulcer on the left thumb for the last 12 months. The ulcer appeared purplish, with rounded borders, a non-granulating base, and watery discharge. The patient started AHT twice a week. After 5 sessions, the pain disappeared, while the ulcer completely healed after 15 sessions.
