Diseases caused by electromagnetic waves (Part One)

In our daily lives, we encounter various waves, to which the body reacts in different ways.

Sea waves usually have a relaxing effect on the human body, the opposite happens with electromagnetic waves.

In addition to light waves, our homes are also entered by artificially produced waves such as from radio stations, televisions, cell phones, computers, and others. All these waves transmit energy each in a larger or smaller amount. Their effect on the body is different (because they are waves with different characteristics).

Are the antennas of TV repeaters, Radio, and Mobile Phones harmful? The power of a mobile telephony repeater is much greater than that of a cell phone. But if the cell phone were to be placed next to the head, this would cause heat from the device itself and practically becomes more harmful than that of the repeater.

The problem with electromagnetism lies because it is an "invisible" pollution, "has no smell", but that causes particularly severe and harmful electromagnetic radiation, endangering tumors, especially in children, and this problem is forgotten by everyone, because we all use this technology (even by using the cell phone).

"If economic development has to be achieved with public health funds, this risks something being gained today, by increasing socio-sanitary expenses in the future as a consequence of the increase in cancer cases, neurodegenerative disorders, infertility, insomnia, depression, allergies, and all problems related to radio frequencies". (Association of diseases from chronic and environmental intoxication _ Francesca Romana).

The increase of repeater antennas frequencies, indeed makes you connect faster to the internet, television, radio stations, and others, but this may increase the problem of diseases. This has been highlighted by the presidents of the Regional Agency for the Environment and of the Higher Institute for Environmental Research in Italy in November 2011.

Recent years' studies have shown that the invisible waves of the electromagnetic spectrum have a profound impact on every aspect of biological regulation. The biological functions of our body (heartbeats, brain functioning, metabolic reactions that occur in every cell, etc.), are regulated by currents, so we are "electric beings".

In the civilized world mainly, we are in constant exposure to electromagnetic waves released by everyday electrical devices such as refrigerators, televisions, cell phones, computers, Wi-Fi, etc., and as a result, we are inevitably predisposed to the health consequences of one kind or another, from the action of these waves.

According to Dr. Ann Louise Gittleman, author of the book Zapped: we are exposed to the level of radioactive radiation 100 million times more than our great-grandparents.

Researchers at the National Institute of Health have discovered that simply, just keeping an active cell phone close to the head for 50 minutes, produces noticeable changes in brain metabolism.

The complete report has been recently presented by Prof. Girish Kumar of the IIT Bombay department of electrical engineering. Kumar has deepened his research on cell phone radiation and its effects, is against the frequent use of cell phones, as it causes users to increase the risk of cancer, brain tumors, and many other health risks. For children, this is even more pronounced.

Wi-fi (wireless internet), is a system that creates an electromagnetic field with a frequency around 2400 megahertz, almost equal to what the body absorbs even from a cell phone.

Do waves emitted by cell phones cause cancer?

There is much to say on this question, but little can be called minimally satisfying information or facts.

In 2001 Paolo Vecchia at the High Institute of Health, Rome - created the classification called IARC for assessing the carcinogenic capability of electromagnetic fields.

Classification according to IARC:

  1. Carcinogenic agent for humans
  2. a) Agent probably carcinogenic to humans
    b) Agent possibly carcinogenic to humans
  3. Agent not classifiable as to carcinogenicity in humans
  4. Agent probably not carcinogenic to humans.

IARC has classified ELF magnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B).

Acute effects caused by any radiofrequency field:

  • Absorption of electromagnetic energy
  • Distribution in the form of heat
  • Rise in general or local temperature (thermal effect)

Medical science considers a constant temperature rise up to 1 Degree Celsius as tolerable, which corresponds to a value of 4W/kg.

WHO (World Health Organization) in 2011 classified cell phones as a possible carcinogenic source. (Group 2B).

I kindly ask you to explain. My son works in a facility that is close to high-voltage transformers. He has been suffering from stomach pain, digestive disorders, and muscle pain for 6 months. Is it possible for you to explain if electromagnetic waves have had an impact and what the consequences are?

Dear Mrs. Zuna,
I do not think that your son's concerns are related to electromagnetic waves. I recommend consulting with a surgeon to determine the cause of the abdominal pain. Also, do the tests: complete blood, urine, ECG.
Best regards,
Viktori
