Greetings, my mom is 72 years old, she had surgery on her small intestine 35 years ago. From time to time, she experiences abdominal swelling, intestinal rumbling, and pain. We took her to the hospital, and they told us she should not eat foods without fiber. Please, what are these foods?

Hello, I have a sister who has a kidney stone. She was pregnant and gave birth two months ago. One stone has blocked her small intestine channel, and she has developed a yellow color in her eyes and face. The doctor told her to get infusions, and she has been receiving 3 infusions for 2 weeks. Do the infusions do anything, and is it possible to remove the stone without any intervention? Please tell me

Hello,
The therapy depends on the size of the stone. If the stone is very small, there is a possibility that it may pass on its own through the intestine.
However, usually, in these cases, the recommended intervention is ERCP-the stone is removed with a probe from within the intestine. If it is expected for the stone to pass on its own, there is the possibility of complications, where the most dangerous is acute pancreatitis, therefore my advice is that if you have the opportunity to undergo this procedure-ERCP, to do it without delay.
All the best

Hello. My father has problems with his intestine. He passes undigested stool and has some pain on the right side of his abdomen. I note that he has not gone for a check-up because he refuses to do a colonoscopy
